Settling in Procedure

We understand that every child is an individual with different needs and desires. Our staff will work in partnership with the parent/carer to ensure the settling in period is relaxed and flexible.

If possible a member of staff will undertake a home visit before your child starts their settling in period to gain a wider picture of your child’s stage and level of development. Also this gives the staff, parent/carer and child, to familiarise themselves with each other to make the transition between home and nursery smooth.

A visit to the nursery with your child would be required in order for your child to familiarise themselves with the environment and staff. How long the settling period is for is based on the child. In conjunction with our nursery staff we aim to make this a smooth transitional period for your child. There is no charge for this settling in period.

Our Sessions

The nursery opens from 08:00 to 18:00. We open all year round, close for 2 weeks at Christmas, bank holidays and 3 training days per year. Dates are provided when you join the nursery.

Fees

Day Rate 8am to 6pm

Half day Rate: 8am to 1pm | 1pm to 6pm

We offer places for 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds who are eligible for 15 and 30 hours funding, fee paying, full time & part time places. The funding only applies term time at our nursery so for 38 weeks of the year. Please contact us for any availability or any queries. Our fees includes the provision of all meals, snacks and drinks

You will need to register your child with us by filling a registration form and pay a non refundable registration fee to join our waiting list

Welcome to Carmena Christian Day Nursery. As professionals, parents and carers we all want the best for children in our care. We are a family established Christian day nursery that has been operating for over 35 years and we are committed to providing outstanding childcare five days a week, 51 weeks a year for 0-5 year olds between 8am-6pm.

We believe in creating positive and nurturing relationships based on Christian principles which is at the heart of our philosophy. We believe God has intricately made us all, and the bible says in Psalms This means no matter who we are or where we come from, we should be grateful that God chose to give us the gift of life. We welcome children from all religions, ethnicities and backgrounds, recognising each child’s learning journey is individual and unique.
